    Founded in Ukraine in 2011, Ajax Systems' raison d'être is to provide best-in-class security and automation tools to safeguard homes and businesses around the world. Simple to use, the Ajax system is managed from a user's smart phone or laptop.

    The Challenge

    Opening the doors to the UK and Europe for Ajax Systems' wide range of consumer connectable fire and life safety devices

    Consumer connectable or 'smart' devices that can connect to the internet or a network are vulnerable to cyberattack. To combat it, the UK PSTI (Product Security) regime came into effect in April 2024.

    Ajax Systems was committed to meeting the requirements for access to the UK and EU markets for its devices, including PSTI certification and BSI Kitemark. The organization understood that to provide the necessary independent verification of the quality and security of its Internet of Things (IoT) products, it needed a partner it could trust. This step would be important not only in obtaining certification but in gaining credibility and differentiation in its new markets.

    The Solution

    Building trust and credibility through certification

    Leading the market: Ajax Systems is the first commercial detection company to achieve BSI PSTI (IoT) certification.

    To maximize efficiency and market reach, Ajax elected to have its wide range of mains and battery powered combination smoke, heat, and carbon monoxide alarms tested against the requirements of multiple certificates at the same time. In addition to PSTI certification, the products were tested against CE, UKCA and UAE CoC. Achieving the Kitemark was the ultimate goal. The full range of tests were managed through our BSI Alarm Systems test laboratory. Certification of the full range of products was conducted with minimal delay between each.
